Upcoming Course – Coloured Pencils
August 31, 2017 by Diane Marcotte
Did you know you could dissolve coloured pencil pigment thus making your art piece a painting and not a drawing?
Coloured pencil is such a versatile medium: ease of use, portability and cleanup, it doesn’t get much easier than painting with coloured pencils. In this course I will take beginners and more experienced artists step-by-step to create realistic coloured pencil paintings (not drawings.)
In addition to learning traditional techniques for layering, blending, and burnishing we will explore the multiple ways to dissolve the pigment so that coloured pencil art can easily rival paintings in luminosity and depth of colour.
We will also combine coloured pencil with other media (such as watercolour, markers, Pan Pastels, etc) to produce mixed-media art. A variety of surfaces will be also used. Come and explore the possibilities!
